Brewing

Since the Company’s formation in 1986 ABM have been working successfully within the industry with all of the leading Brewing Companies.

From Malt Delivery through to Final Package, ABM are capable of delivering Project Solutions to all departments including Bottling, Canning, Cask and Kegging Lines. The range of work carried out by ABM’s experienced personnel extends from concept and feasibility studies through to the design, installation and commissioning of the completed project. 

ABM also have a proven track record of upgrading and improving existing plant control systems with the minimum of plant downtime. Our independence from particular suppliers allows us to offer impartial advice with regard to the specification of all types of equipment which may be required as part of the project.

With the recent upsurge in Micro Breweries ABM is well placed to be able to offer our services to these customers. This could be a fairly large scale full automated 40 barrel Microbrewery such as Hydes’ “Beer Studio”, or a more manual small scale micro brewery such as the Big Bog Brewery in Liverpool where we installed a bespoke fermentation monitoring and control system.

Dairies

ABM have been operating successfully in Dairies for the last 20 years covering all aspects of the Industry.

With experience from Milk Intake through to Final Package, ABM are capable of delivering Project Solutions from Milk Intake through the Dairy, to the various Packaging Departments.

The range of work carried out by ABM’s experienced personnel extends from Concept and Feasibility Studies through to the final Plant Commissioning and Handover of the completed Project.

ABM have been actively involved in the development of Bottle Counting Systems which control the Manufacturing of the Milk Bottles on site and the Counting and Transfer of the completed Bottles through to each individual Bottling Line.

ABM also have a proven track record of Upgrading and Improving existing plant control systems with the minimum of plant downtime.

Process Industries

In addition to the work carried out by ABM in the hygienic food industries work has also been carried out on a variety of plants and the associated control systems.

These industries range from “Fine Chemicals”, Relocation of Complete Production Lines in the Food Industry, through to work in the Water Board sector.

Bio-ethanol Plants

ABM’s blend of Multi Disciplinary Design and Implementation Skills provide a unique facility to assist companies to develop innovative new technology systems and plant for a range of new products including the Bio Ethanol Industry.

We are currently working on 2 off projects within this industry where our design skills have meant that we were able to offer our client assistance in developing a complete system from the initial design through to the final solution.

System One

This involves the Design of the new Control Software and Electrical Panel and Field Wiring aspects of the project and because of our process knowledge we were able to assist with the complete design in order to come up with best overall solution for the client.

System Two

ABM were approached by our clients to help them design a new plant, which had been developed at the laboratory stage, up into a Functional Full Size Production Unit.

This design includes all aspects of the project including, Civils, Process & Services Pipework, Panel & Field Wiring, Equipment Specification, Control System and Project Management of the whole installation.

This plant has also been designed to allow the client to optimise the process during the testing phase to ensure that the client is able to maximise the benefits derived from this new unique development.

Calypso Soft Drinks

(now Refresco)
Supply and Installation of a  CIP facility for the Packaging Line and associated Syrup Mix/Holding Tanks.

Complete upgrade of Scada and PLC software based on upgrading the obsolete PLC equipment and Scada software to a Siemens Step 7 PLC and Delphi Graphics as the operator interface. The Scada was developed following demonstrations at ABM’ premises, and fully customised to meet Calypso’s requirements.

Drynks

Installation of De-Alcohol Plant within a working brewery in Stockport.

The system was based upon Drynks utilizing an Alfa Laval DEALC 20 De-Alcoholization Plant capable of processing 2,000 ltrs/hour.

The Plant was designed to cater for Beer Based Products (Smashed Hops and Silver Top) and Cider Based Products (Smashed Apple and Smashed Berry).
